Booklook Review: Psalm 23 by Richard Jesse Watson

Summary:

Psalm 23 by Richard Jesse Watson, brings to life the famous Psalm by King David. By taking the original Scriptures, he illustrates the imagery of the Psalm in a Narnia-like manner. The illustrations are full of color and texture, truly capturing the depth of the words of truth. Watson directly quotes the King James Version in a way that is memorable and impacting for the youngest of readers. Since Psalm 23 is a board book, it is appropriate for younger aged toddlers or preschoolers.

My Thoughts:

As the words of this book are directly from Scripture, the truth is crystal clear, and brings to the surface a passage that is most familiar. What I enjoyed about this particular book, was the illustrations that so well depicted the deeper personal message for every individual Believer. The images in this book were well above the “expected” for a young children’s reader. I would highly recommend this book either for your own children or as a baby shower gift for new parents. It’s a wonderful tool to introduce the youngest of readers to God’s Word!
