Recipe: Peppermint Chocolate Shake

peppermint chocolate shakeI have been seeing all sorts of fun and festive seasonal milkshakes recently, and let’s be honest, when you’re pregnant, the power of suggestion is pretty strong! šŸ˜‰ I especially love the peppermint chocolate combo, so Chick-Fil-A (and others have been teasing me in the last few weeks). I knew that indulging in one of those shakes would make me feel pretty lousy afterwards, so instead I opted to make my own healthier version at home!


  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or your milk of choice)
  • 1 scoop chocolateĀ protein powder (we use Shakeology-Vegan ChocolateĀ or Regular Chocolate)
  • 1 drop Peppermint Essential Oil* OR 1/2 tsp Peppermint Extract
  • Ice as desired

*Should you choose to use Peppermint Essential Oil, PLEASE be sure you are using a high quality oil that is safe for ingestion. We use Young Living Essential Oils that are not only therapeutic grade, but safe for topical and internal use.


Add all ingredients to blender and blend! If you want a thicker consistency add more ice and enjoy! If you want this to be a little “lighter” you can skip the milk and just use water, but you will give up some creaminess in taste and texture.
