It’s All About the Heart.

While on our recent road trip back from Texas my Dad and I were listening to some of Brene Brown’s writing about shame and vulnerability. Brene has some wonderful insight to these areas and how they affect and shape our lives (unless we learn how to process shame and handle vulnerability).

As I took her words in, I was reminded…

It’s all about the heart.

We all struggle with vulnerability. Every time we venture into openness with someone, we are offering them a chance to hold our heart. Whether you are sharing something minor or pouring out dark details of an experience you have suffered, your heart is on the line.

Keep in mind, having your heart on the line is far from a terrible thing! Actually, it is an incredible opportunity to discover the people in your life who are ready to walk with you, and maybe even carry your burden. We all have “deep” days, moments when our hearts are heavy. Having someone you consider safe to  lean on is invaluable!

It’s all about the heart.

Who helps keep your heart?

Proverbs 4:23

“Keep your heart with all vigilance,

for from it flow the springs of life.”
