Sunday Reflections

A couple snippets from Sunday’s message at The Way that struck me in a really bold way:

“Don’t be easily offended-we need people to share hard things with us.” -Bryan Olden

I don’t usually consider myself to be someone who is easily offended, but after some difficult relational wounds the last few years, I have found my scars tender even when others aren’t intending any harm. I need and want people to share hard things with me, so I have had to purpose not to be offended.

“Make allowance for each other’s faults,

and forgive anyone who offends you.

Remember,

the Lord forgave you,

so you must forgive others.”

-Colossians 3:13

This has nothing to do with how I want to be treated! It has EVERYTHING to do with what God has commanded me (and you, if you are a Christ-follower) to do.
