Golden Birthday

I have been waiting for this day for a long time!

Today I am 25 on the 25th of August.

To be honest, it kind of snuck up on me—when I was younger I dreamt about this day, and in the past few years (and especially crazy months), it simply escaped my mind. This day was a big deal for me growing up because most of my siblings have “earlier” birthdays…

Megan on the 11th, Michael on the 12th, Mel on the 5th

Mitchel is the only one who will have to wait longer than me (29th).

I feel for ya’ bud.

You’re nearly halfway there!

I guess I expected some kind of milestone, something magical or amazing to happen; then today just showed up at my door, discreetly. I feel so unprepared, jilted almost when I look for that mystical element to appear.

I never dreamed Mason and I would be married.

I definitely never dreamed I would be living in Korea, on the same building and floor as my parents.

I never dreamed I would be in a new job as a preschool Director. Oh, and did I mention launching the preschool from scratch? Yeah, this girl is NO pioneer!

I never dreamed that after only 2 years in student ministry God would call us away from traditional church ministry roles.

I never dreamed that we would settle as a married couple in TX only to move halfway around the world and try to re-settle.

I never dreamed that we would sell our car and truck to move to a country where we walk or take public transportation.

I never dreamed I would be in a place where I can’t find deodorant around the corner.

I don’t think I ever knew what to dream…

I always dreamed about working with friends from college.

I only ever dreamed about living near family—as an Expat/TCK family, this usually remains a dream!

I always dreamed about how my knowledge of and love for Korea would be used later on.

I always dreamed about my passion for Biblical Counseling being put to use.

I always dreamed about ministering with Mason beyond the United States.

Happy Birthday to me—I ultimately LOVE living the dream God has for my life!
